Mooring Buoys

Mooring buoys operate within the system by being connected to the collector and help maintain balanced load distribution by keeping the collector group suspended underwater. They are positioned directly above the collectors where cage connections are gathered and play a critical role in system stability.

Different volume options are available: 300 LT, 600 LT, 900 LT, 1200 LT, 1600 LT, 2500 LT, 4000 LT and 8000 LT. The selection of the buoy is determined according to the site conditions where the system is installed, water depth, hydrodynamic loads (wave–current–wind) and engineering calculations.

In our in-house EPS production facility, the internal filling of the buoys is manufactured as 22 DNS density EPS (expanded polystyrene) using state-of-the-art equipment. This structure provides high buoyancy capacity and long-lasting performance.

The buoys are reinforced with special chain fixing plates made from steel plates with thicknesses ranging from 5 mm to 20 mm, protected against corrosion with hot-dip galvanization at the upper and lower central points. This structure ensures safe and balanced load transfer.

By design, the chain is configured to pass through the central axis of the buoy; a swivel is installed at the lower connection point to reduce torsional loads. The products are delivered ready for installation with an integrated and secure connection system.
